Artist Statement
My metal pieces reflect why I love metal so much. It comes from nature, but it is refined and not easily manipulated, I like to think that it’s just like myself. I am ever changing and growing through time. Something that nature itself has brought as a connection to everyone and everything.
As you see my art, you may see some answers, but what is important about art? Is it the thoughts and ideas and questions that stem from seeing it? Would I answer your questions? No. Everything has had an answer at some point. What would be the point to answer all of life’s questions? There isn’t a possibility that it may be all right to anyone, so here’s the real question; what is the real question I’m asking? Is it, ‘What’s the right answer to art?’ or is it, “Is there a possibility to having a right answer for art?”
Currently, I enjoy capturing life and all of its twists and turns to enjoy and experience. My art is a timeline of ideas rupturing out of my mind and ready to be released. In my metal works, I try to explore the involvement of nature from something that seems too hard to have had come from such a delicate place. Though metals do naturally come from the earth, you can’t help but to think how different the material could have started out before it was collected and refined.
